Recycling success during initial year
A mountain of cans, paper, cardboard and glass did not go into
the landfill from the University this year, according to Roger Bowman,
supervisor of grounds. Instead, the entire University community
pitched in by putting 50 tons of recyclable materials into special
containers on campus, including 5 tons of high-grade paper, 14 tons of
commingled paper, 2 tons of aluminum cans, 2 tons of steel cans, 5
tons of glass and 22 tons of cardboard.
