Financial aid director Michael E. Lee accepts Wilmington College positio
Michael E. Lee, director of scholarships and student financial
aid since 1985, has accepted the position of dean of admissions and
financial aid at Wilmington College, effective July 1.
Bruce Walker, dean of admissions, said "I hate to see Mike leave.
He's been a tremendous asset to the University, but this is a good
opportunity for him and I'm happy for him."
The University administers more than $25 million to help
undergraduate and graduate students meet their educational expenses.
Nearly 48 percent of the undergraduates receive some form of financial
assistance, most of them on the basis of need.
Lee joined the Delaware staff in 1974 as student employment
coordinator in the Office of Financial Aid and was named assistant
director of financial aid in 1980, a position he held until his
promotion to director.
A graduate of Millikin University, Lee holds a master's degree in
philosophy from Delaware.
A farewell reception will be held in Lee's honor from 4:30-6
p.m., Tuesday, June 9, in the President's Room of the Blue and Gold
Club. Persons interested in attending are asked to call 831-1209.
