Safety Alert

     The Department of Occupational Health and Safety recently
received two safety/recall notifications from the Purchasing
Department.

Klein Tools:
     Buckingham Manufacturing is recalling certain pole straps with
non-locking snap hooks that are sometimes used with Klein Lineman
belts containing S-shaped D-rings. The non-locking snap hooks are
susceptible to roll-out if used improperly.

Bio Rad High Voltage DNA Sequencing Cells:
     Bio Rad, manufacturer of the Sequi-Gen system, is issuing a
warning regarding the danger of electrical shock or fire if DNA
sequencing cells are not properly maintained. Routine inspections of
the apparatus in highly recommended.
