Employee development
     Listed below are Employee Development classes for May. In
addition to weekly UpDate listings, a complete schedule with
accompanying articles was published as an insert in the Feb. 27
UpDate. If you are interested in a copy for reference or to post,

Networking: Managing Internal Relationships
     Getting the Job Done...Trouble Shooting...Problem
Solving...Talking it Out. Effectively managing relationships with
colleagues, subordinates and supervisors can increase everyone's
ability to do the best job possible with the most complete
information. An understanding of the elements of successful collegial
relationships can help us apply the principles to relationships that
have not been as successful. Participants will explore their own
networking relationships through practice exercises and development
planning.
     Date: May 7
     Time: 8:30 a.m. - noon
     Location: Ewing Room, Perkins Student Center
     Deadline: May 1
     Audience: Professional and salaried supervisory staff

Developing Your Career: A Self-Assessment Workshop
     Participants will analyze their talents, skills and abilities to
formulate career development plans using a variety of assessment
exercises. For individuals who wish to define career goals and develop
a realistic plan. Self-assessment prework.
     Date: May 13
     Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
     Location: Clayton Hall
     Deadline: May 6
     Audience: Salaried staff

the registration form posted in the Employee Development bulletin
board to Empldevreg@mvs.udel.edu., or call the registration hotline at
831-8725. Participants will be notified of their enrollment by a
course confirmation letter within two weeks of the workshop.
