WXDR DJ: Jayla Boire

     Listeners tune in during the week to hear Jayla Boire jam in the
mornings on WXDR. This is her first experience with broadcasting,
coming to the station after earning a degree in English at Delaware.
     "I've always wanted to try DJ-ing, and I finally got my
confidence up and did it,"  Boire said. Her lucky break came when a
slot opened up.
     Boire who graduated in January, works for the station both as a
DJ and as public relations director. Much of her efforts go toward
raising money for the station, which recently collected over $25,000
during its annual weeklong radiothon.
     Her other responsibilities include enforcing on-air language
restrictions and trying to expand the audience to a larger segment of
the community. Boire's goal is to get more people involved in helping
with the station's day-to-day operation.
