Flex tips at a glance
Dental
Your dental care choice can be different from your choice for
medical coverage. Choosing the "no coverage" dental option entitles
you to an additonal $100/year of UDollars.
UDollars
If you do not spend all your UDollars on benefits, you will have
extra cash, thereby increasing your take-home pay and your taxable
income. If you anticipate IRS-qualified expenses for the coming year,
you could put your extra cash into a flexible spending account (FSA)
and avoid paying taxes on the amount.
Group Life Insurance
The IRS cost of group life insurance that exceeds $50,000 is
reported on your W-2 form each year as taxable income. This is called
"imputed income."
Medical
If you choose "no coverage," you must verify your other medical
coverage by completing the medical information requested in the health
care section of the enrollment form. Choosing the "no coverage"
medical option entitles you to $350/year of UDollars.
