Academy honoree

Robert W. Grimble (left) receives the University of Delaware Medal of

12 in Arsht Hall. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University,
Grimble worked for the Du Pont Co. until 1979 where he served as
chairperson of Du Pont International, S.A. and general
manager/director of Du Pont's International Department. Joining the
academy in 1981, he chaired the Academy  Council for two terms and
chaired the academy fund-raising effort on behalf of Arsht Hall. He
also chaired a University national conference, "Organizing
College-Level Programs for Older Adults." Grimble has studied medieval
history and organized and led academy study trips in conjunction with
Oxford University.
