Hens lead NAC honor roll
The University of Delaware had the highest number of honorees from a
single North Atlantic Conference (NAC) school with 35 honor roll athletes.
In all, the NAC honored 200 student-athletes on its fall 1991 Academic
Honor Roll.
The other institutions in the conference included Boston University,
20; Drexel University, 24; University of Hartford, 31; University of Maine,
23; University of New Hampshire, 16; Northeastern University, 19;
University of Vermont, 32.
To be eligible, students must earn a 3.0 or higher grade point average
while competing in fall semester team sports.
In a related matter, President David P. Rosselle received a letter
from NAC commissioner Stuart P. Haskell Jr. regarding Delaware's first year
of conference membership and the two championships-in cross country and
swimming-which were conducted on the Newark campus.
Haskell complimented the University staff for being gracious hosts,
adding, "Both events were superbly organized and conducted with style and
class. Many members of the U.D. staff were involved and all were fine
representatives of the University in dealing with visiting coaches,
student-athletes and the league staff.
"In summary, U.D. is a terrific institution and a great place to hold
our conference championships," he wrote.
