Blue Hens to face William and Mary
The University of Delaware's Fightin' Blue Hens (2-0 this
season) meet the NCAA's number-three-ranked team, William and Mary
(1-0 this season), on the gridiron at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
The Hens are currently ranked number 12 in the country by the
NCAA, after opening the season with victories against West Chester
University (28-0) and the University of Massachusetts (24-7). The
Tribe of William and Mary beat Boston University 48-22 to open its
season on Saturday and has not lost any of its last 19 home games,
including 13 consecutive victories.
Last year, Delaware fell to the Tribe, 22-12, at Delaware
Stadium. The teams first met in 1915, when Delaware defeated
William and Mary 93-0. This Saturday's game is the 16th in the
teams' series, which the Blue Hens lead 9-6.
The game will be broadcast live on WDEL-am (1150), starting
with a pre-game show at 12:30. Highlights of the contest will be
shown at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, and 7:30 p.m., Thursday, on WNS-TV
(Heritage, Cablevision Channel 2).
