PAC, SSAC representatives announced for 1992
The results of elections held in odd-numbered districts of the
Professional Advisory Council (PAC) and Salaried Staff Advisory
Council (SSAC) have been announced by Maxine Colm, vice president
for employee relations.
Members of PAC and SSAC serve two-year terms, with elections
for even-numbered districts held in even years and odd-numbered
districts in odd years.
"The monthly meetings of PAC and SSAC are invaluable
opportunities for dialogue and the constructive resolution of
problems," Colm said. "In addition, council members are well
attuned to the feelings of their constituents and have helped me
greatly in the formulation or revision of personnel policies. Our
University is quite fortunate to have these two dynamic groups."
PAC and SSAC members serve on a number of University-wide
committees, such as the President's Council, Commission on the
Status of Women, Health Care Cost Containment Committee, Commission
on Racial and Cultural Diversity and Environmental Concerns
Committee and have observer status on the Faculty Senate.
Ad hoc committees of each council have addressed issues as
diverse as parking, merit pay, job classification studies,
parenting leave and campus safety.
Council members, their districts and the areas/units they
represent are listed below. Further information on PAC or SSAC
activities is available from any council member or from the Office
of Employee Relations.
