Winter Session keeps growing

Approximately two dozen additional classes will be available
at this year's Winter Session, according to Allan Fanjoy, program
specialist in international programs and special sessions.
Many departments have added or enlarged sections in those
classes that are extremely popular. This, he said, is evidence of
a response to the needs of Winter Session students and an example
of efficient use of University facilities.
The total capacity of Winter Session classes is 16,000 seats,
and 13,000 of those are filled, Fanjoy said.
More than 8,300 students advanced registered in advance for
classes, and 92 percent of them are successfully placed in at least
one class.
More than 800 students registered during the phone-in/drop-add
period, increasing the registered credit hours by 15 percent.
Fanjoy said enrollments are up in every undergraduate
classification compared to last year. The largest increases are
among freshmen and sophomores.
The discontinuation of additional fees for students living in
traditional residence halls during Winter Session has had a
positive impact on this year's enrollment increase, he said.
There is still time to register for Winter Session classes.
Late registration is scheduled Jan. 6-9, the first four days of
class. Complete course listings, including meeting locations and
late revisions, will be available in the registration office, 011
Hullihen Hall, by Jan. 2.
