Tonight's basketball game sold out
This evening's first-ever men's basketball game between the
University of Delaware and Delaware State College is sold out.
No tickets will be available at the door.
The game will be broadcast at 7:30 p.m., on WDEL (1150 am) and
on Heritage Cablevision (Channel 2). Anyone interested in watching
the televised version of the game can see it in the Amber Lantern
on the first floor of the Pencader Dining Complex.
Saturday's game against Widener University, at 7 p.m., in
Delaware Field House, has been designated a Toys for Tots
collection event.
People attending the game are urged to bring an unwrapped toy.
These will be distributed during the holiday season to needy
families in the area through the Toys for Tots program. Members of
the U.S. Marines Corps, which sponsors the program, will be on hand
to accept donations.
This is the second year the University has sponsored a toy
collection in conjunction with a men's basketball game. Last year,
nearly 200 children benefitted from toys collected at a Blue Hen
game.
