Christimas dinner
     The annual Latin American Christmas Dinner will be held from
7-11 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6., in Rooms 206 and 209 of the Alison Hall
Annex.
     All members of the campus community are invited to attend.
Participants are asked to bring a covered dish, typical of their
respective country's cuisine. If unable to do so, there will be a
charge of $1.50.
     The event is sponsored by the Organization for the Advancement
of Latin American Students.

Holiday dance
     A Holiday Ballroom Dance will be held from 8-10 p.m., Friday,
Dec. 13, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center. A dance
lesson will be given from 7:30-8 p.m. by Carolyn Rollins of Brad
Morris Dance Productions.
     Music will be provided by a disc jockey and some refreshments
will be served. Pre-registration is requested and can be made by
visiting Room 101A Carpenter Sports Building.
     Cost is $3 for full-time students. All others will be charged
$5.

Satellite seminar
     The Center for Information Systems Management, Education and
Research (CISMER) in the College of Business and Economics, will
host the receipt of a satellite-broadcast seminar, "User Interface
Strategies '92," from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, in the ITV
Studio in Newark Hall.
     Pre-registration fee is $25 for University employees and seats
are limited.

Call for papers
     The annual Student Research on Women Conference will be held
in April. All current undergraduate and graduate students at the
University are encouraged to participate and submit papers for
consideration. The research topic must pertain to women or to
gender-related issues.
     Entries may be in the form of critical essays based on library
research, as well as reports of findings in social science
research. Accepted papers are presented orally.
     A President's Award of $150 is given in each division-
graduate and undergraduate-for the most outstanding paper.
     Proposals are due March 9, and papers are due April 6.
     Entry rules and additional information are available from the
Office of Women's Affairs at 451-8063 or the Women's Studies
Interdisciplinary Program at 451-8474.

Campus blood drive
     The Blood Bank of Delaware will conduct a blood drive
Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 11 and 12, in the Rodney Room of the
Perkins Student Center.
     All faculty and staff are encouraged to participate and
donations are credited to the individual's blood bank membership.

Excellence in teaching
     The University Faculty Senate Committee on Student and Faculty
Honors is soliciting nominations of faculty members and teaching
assistants who merit consideration for the 1991-92
Excellence-in-Teaching and
Excellence-in-Undergraduate-Academic-Advising awards.
     Nomination forms are available at the main desk of the Perkins
Student Center or by contacting the Faculty Senate Office at
451-2921. They should be submitted by March 9 to the Faculty Senate
Office, 219 McDowell Hall.
     Those selected will be announced at Honors Day ceremonies in
May.

Trustee meeting
     The University Board of Trustees will hold its semi-annual
meeting at  3:30  p.m.,  Wednesday, Dec. 18, in 120 Clayton Hall.

Artistic donation
     Leslie Burgess and Sarah Jastak-Burgess donated their
collection of icons to the University Gallery Collection.
