Employee donations approach new high - nearly $100,000

More than $77,000 has been donated to the University of
Delaware by University employees so far this fiscal year, President
David P. Roselle announced today.
"This level of giving by generous employees says much about
the value they place on their University and their dedication to
it," Roselle said.
"Only five months into the new fiscal year, employee donations
are quickly approaching the total figure donated by employees in
all of last year. Such support certainly adds encouragement for
friends of the University of Delaware who are considering making
gifts," the president said.
Faculty and staff who have not yet made a commitment to the
Annual Employee Campaign may do so, using the form on page 5.
According to Louis J. Beccaria, director of development,
contributions received thus far have been for unrestricted use as
well as designated for such areas as women's affairs, scholarships
and the library. Contributors who have not requested anonymity will
be recognized with membership in The Blue Hen Club, he said.
Most employee contributors thus far have opted to use payroll
deduction as a convenient way of giving, Beccaria said.
About one third of the donors are Delaware alumni and about
one-fifth are parents of University students.

coordinator of annual giving, at 451-2104.
