Mammography exams scheduled

Next month, the University will offer mammograms on campus, at
a special price of $62, for female employees age 35 and over.
Arrangements have been made with Mammography of Delaware, a
cooperative effort by the state and the Medical Center of Delaware.
A van will be located in the parking lot adjacent to the
University Visitors' Center on South College Avenue from 9 a.m.-3
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11. The van will also return in 1992, on Feb.
27 and 28.
The screening takes approximately 15 minutes and the mobile
coach is designed for comfort and privacy. Trained female
technicians will utilize advanced, low-dose X-ray equipment.
According to experts, the radiation exposure for a breast
examination is equivalent to that of a dental X-ray.
Employees will be given time off to participate in the
program. However, registration must be made by Dec. 2 through the
Office of Women's Affairs, telephone 451-8063.
Employees under the age of 35 or those with Total Health Plus
insurance will need a release from their physician.
The results of the mammogram will be reported to the employee
and to the physician she designates.
     For information, call 451-8063.
