Basketball tickets on sale

     Season tickets for the 1991-92 men's and women's basketball
season are on sale now at the Delaware Field House ticket office.
     Two season packages are offered for the final season of play
in the Delaware Field House, with the Hens slated to move next fall
into the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center.
     The Delaware men's team will play a 14-game home schedule in
its first season of competition in the North Atlantic Conference
(NAC), highlighted by the first-ever meeting with the Hornets of
Delaware State College.
     The Delaware State game will begin at 7:30 p.m., Thursday,
Dec. 5, in Delaware Field House and is expected to be sold out well
in advance. In fact, Director of Athletics Edgar N. Johnson said,
"The only way to really guarantee a seat is to be a season ticket
holder."
     The women's team, winners of three straight East Coast
Conference crowns, also will shift its competition to the NAC and
a 15-game home schedule that includes a Jan. 2 meeting with
nationally ranked Richmond.
     Season tickets will be $50 for either the men's or women's
contests. For $80, fans will have reserved seating for both men's
and women's games. There will be five men's and women's combined
ticket dates.
     The men's regular season home opener is scheduled at 3:15
p.m., Nov. 23, against Washington College; the women's team opens
its season with Bucknell University at 1 p.m. on the same date.
     The Delaware-Delaware State men's contest has attracted the
most preseason attention and University officials have set up a
special ticket policy for the game.
     Regular basketball season ticket holders will be assured of
seating for the Delaware-Delaware State contest and gain priority
seat selection for the 1992-93 season, when the teams move into the
new Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center.
     A block of 800 tickets will be made available to students,
beginning at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 18, in the Perkins Student
Center. University students will be able to pick up tickets for the
Dec. 5 contest with Delaware State, as long as they are available,
from Nov. 18-22.
     Faculty and staff football season ticket holders will be able
to pick up tickets for the Hens-Hornets game beginning at 8:30
a.m., Nov. 18, in the Delaware Field House lobby-250 have been put
aside for pickup at this time and they will be distributed on a
first-come, first-serve basis.
