Hofstetter reappointed consulting scholar
Fred T. Hofstetter, associate provost for instructional
technology, has been reappointed an International Business Machines
(IBM) Consulting Scholar for the third consecutive year.
Hofstetter, who also is a professor of music and educational
studies at the University, was first selected for the program in
1988.
Hofstetter said IBM's Consulting Scholars travel to college
campuses around the country and the world, sharing their expertise
in computing with colleagues and exploring academic opportunities
with computers.
"Being a Scholar gives me access to the latest technology and
an inside look at the new products that have yet to come out,"
Hofstetter said. "I really appreciate the opportunity to have that
early look at things."
Hofstetter said his involvement in the program gives the
University increased visibility. In his four years as a consulting
scholar, he said he has lectured in at least 40 states, most of
Europe, and in the Far East.
