Annual craft show to feature artisians
The University's 18th annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Show
will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and
Dec. 1, in Clayton Hall.
Crafters from six states will be selling such items as stained
glass, wood pieces, leather goods, ceramics and an array of other
handmade items.
Admission is free to members of the University community with
I.D. and $1 per person, per day to others.
Snodgrass to read poetry at Volume II
W.D. Snodgrass, distinguished professor of English and
Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, will read from his latest book,
Selected Poems 1957-87, at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Volume
II, 58 East Main St., Newark. A reception and autograph session
will follow.
Workplace wellness is conference topic
"Risk Management: The Wellness Initiative" will be the
subject of the fifth annual Workplace Wellness Conference,
scheduled from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, in Clayton
Hall.
The conference is designed for managers of human resources,
personnel and benefits staff, health professionals and others
interested in promoting health at the worksite.
Highlights of this year's program include a discussion of the
controversial issue of risk-related insurance and presentations by
nationally recognized speakers on the issues of health promotions
as a cost control strategy, financial incentives as a means of
getting people to adopt healthier lifestyles and maximizing health
with a positive mental attitude.
The conference also includes workshops and roundtable
discussions on legal issues surrounding health promotion, budgeting
wellness programs, reaching blue collar workers and integrating
health promotion into a total health care cost management strategy.
The conference is co-sponsored by the University and the
Delaware Center for Wellness. Cost is $130. Special discounts are

Montage rep group to perform Mamet
The Montage Repertory Theatre will present David Mamet's
American Buffalo and All Men are Whores at 8:30 p.m., Friday and
Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9, in the Bacchus Theatre of the Perkins
Student Center.
Cost is $2 for students and $3 for the general public.
Winds, strings, piano in Loudis Recital Hall
A recital entitled "Winds and Strings with Piano on the Side"
will be presented at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Loudis
Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
The performance will feature the Mendelssohn String Quartet;
Holly Blake, bassoon; Cynthia Carr, horn; Lloyd Shorter, oboe; and
Christine Delbeau, piano.
The program will include works by Mozart, Garfield, Britten
and Chopin.
