DEADLINES FOR WOMEN'S AFFAIRS' GRANTS, AWARDS

The University's Office of Women's Affairs (OWA) and its Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) have announced spring deadlines for matching grants and special awards. Complete information and application forms are available at [www.udel.edu/OWA].

The Student Travel Award and the Special Travel Award (for faculty and staff) require a departmental match and are available to women doing research in any area or to men whose research involves women's issues. The awards are given to support travel to present scholarly papers or for significant participation at a conference or comparable activity. The deadline for spring semester applications is Tuesday, April 1. Travel must take place before July 1.

The E. Arthur Trabant Award for Women's Equity is given to an individual, department, administrative unit or committee that has made an exceptional contribution to equity for women at the University. CSW defines "contribution" broadly to encourage as wide a range of nominations as possible, but examples might include developing exemplary programs or curricula, implementing innovative policies and procedures related to women's equity and enhancing existing services to women. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, April 10. This award will be presented at a lunchtime ceremony on May 12.

The Visiting Women's Scholars Fund is a matching fund designed to assist departments in bringing women scholars to campus. There is a rolling deadline, and each application will be evaluated when it is received.
