FACULTY AND STAFF INVITED TO SHARE THEIR BRIGHT IDEAS

Ever get the feeling that there's a better way to get the job done? Now there's a way to submit those bright ideas for serious consideration.

The University has launched a campus-wide campaign to encourage all UD personnel to share and be rewarded for innovative ideas.

Richie Holland, manager, Human Resources, who is administering the "Bright Ideas" program, said there is no specific definition of a bright idea. It can be anything that saves the University time or money, or improves morale and working conditions.

"We are keeping the parameters very broad," Holland said. "The focus is wide open."

By submitting a bright idea using the web form at the newly created Bright Ideas web site, [www.brightideas.udel.edu], employees are eligible to win $100, a T-shirt, a certificate and recognition in UpDate and on UDaily. Look for the "Got any Bright Ideas?" link on the UDaily home page at [www.udel.edu/udaily].

Submissions are due by the end of each month. At the beginning of the next month, a committee including Maxine Colm, vice president for administration, Holland, a faculty member and members of the Professional Advisory Council (PAC) and the Salaried Staff Advisory Council (SSAC) will review the submissions and choose up to four winning ideas.

The program is continuous and will be repeated each month. An annual recognition event for Bright Idea winners will be held each spring. For more information, call Holland at 831-2059.
