DIAL 911 TO REPORT A CAMPUS EMERGENCY IN NEWARK

Now there is one less number to remember in an emergency on campus.

Just dial 911 (instead of 9-911) to report in-progress medical or police emergencies on- or off-campus in Newark.

Those who do dial 9-911 on the Newark campus will still be immediately connected to UD Public Safety, where trained telecommunications officers are available to answer emergency calls 24 hours a day.

Public Safety and Information Technology worked with Verizon to bring UD's emergency calling system in line with the 911 standard on the Newark campus, Lawrence Thornton, Public Safety director, said.
