FSAP TO PRESENT WORKSHOP AND
OFFER ANGER MANAGEMENT HELP
The Faculty Staff Assistance Program will offer two programs of special interest to employees this fall, a workshop about dealing with teenagers and an anger management support group.
"Teenagers Come Without Instructions" will be offered from noon to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Room 130 of the General Services Building. Yvonne Nass, parent education coordinator of Child Inc., will serve as facilitator. The workshop will focus on understanding this stage of a young person's development and what's considered "normal." Participants will explore new ways of communicating with and being supportive of their 9-19 year olds.
To register, send e-mail to Julie Skeen at [jskeen.udel.edu] or call 831-2414 by Sept. 20. Participants may bring a lunch; beverages are provided.
A six-session support group, entitled "I'm So Angry I Can See Red," will help individuals learn what triggers their anger buttons, identify new coping strategies to help handle anger and understand how to use anger in an effective, nondestructive way. The group will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m., every other Tuesday beginning Oct. 1.
For information on the meeting location and to schedule an intake interview with Pattie Porter, facilitator, call 831-2414 by Sept. 24.
