ceremony recognizes student volunteers

The special ceremony recognized 32 outstanding UD students who volunteered their talents to help community members and organizations throughout the year.

Students worked with such organizations as H.O.S.T.S Shue-Medill School, Cedar Lane Elementary School, Homeward Bound, Newark Manor Retirement Home, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Delaware, Contact Delaware, University Mentors, Planned Parenthood. American Red Cross, Little Sisters of the Poor, Delaware Youth for Christ, Newark Day Nursery, Northern Delaware Early Head Start Program, New York City Ground-Zero Firefighters' Thank You America Tour, Youth Empowerment Task Force, Children's Miracle Fund and the March of Dimes, Delaware Psychiatric Center, A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital, Girl Scouts of America Chesapeake Bay Council, Read-Aloud Delaware, Girls Inc., Christiana Care and Special Olympics.

The recognition ceremony is held each year during the end of the spring semester.
