Escort service insures safety after dark

UD's Department of Public Safety provides a walking escort service at no charge for students, staff, faculty and visitors to or from any location on campus or within specifically designated areas adjacent to campus.

The escort service is designed to enhance the safety and peace of mind of students and staff who must walk after dark and to enable walkers to travel from one campus location to another with a greater sense of security. This service is available daily during hours of darkness.

To arrange for an escort:

• Call 831-2222 or use one of the blue light emergency phones located throughout the campus.
  
  
• When calling, be prepared to give your name, exact location and your destination.

Public Safety carefully screens and selects its student escorts, who can be identified by their blue Public Safety shirts or jackets. All escorts are equipped with two-way radios for quick dispatch and prompt service. When circumstances dictate, riding escorts will be provided.
