NOMINATIONS FOR CFIS GRADUATE
STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP DUE MAY 3

The Center for International Studies (CFIS) is seeking nominations from academic departments for its annual research assistantship competition. The award package includes a competitive stipend and a standard tuition waiver for the 2002-03 nine-month academic year. One nomination will be accepted per department. Applicants must be nominated by their department chairpersons and have completed a minimum of 12 credits at the graduate level.

The research assistant will work with the CFIS director of international projects on a range of issues related to the center's operation, such as research for ongoing CFIS initiatives, programs and scholarly publications, as well as grant prospect development and writing.

Department chairs should submit three copies of each nomination to CFIS Research Assistantship, Center for International Studies, 4 Kent Way, by May 3.

Interviews of finalists will be conducted in mid-May, and the final selection is expected to be made by the end of May.
