UKRAINIAN DANCE ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM IN MITCHELL HALL

The spirit and energy of the Ukrainian people will come to life on the Mitchell Hall stage as the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble performs at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, as part of the 2001-2002 Family Performing Arts Series.

The ensemble is renowned for its powerful style, originality and passion of its performance, which showcases Ukrainian tradition and culture. The dance repertoire ranges from acrobatic routines, such as the Hopak, to the romantic dances, such as the Kokhanockla.

Tickets are $10 for the general public; $8 for faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens; and $6 for students and children. They may be purchased by calling the Hartshorn Hall box office at 831-2204, or by visiting the box office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Ukrainian cuisine will be featured at a buffet luncheon at the Blue & Gold Club, starting at 12:30 p.m., April 20. The menu includes potato pierogies and stuffed cabbage rolls. The cost is $12.50 for adults and $6.50 for children ages 5 to 11, gratuity included. For reservations and information, please call 831-2582.
