Prof to speak on media & terrorism

Ralph J. Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication, will speak on "The Media and the War on Terrorism," from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, in 209/211 Trabant University Center.

The free public talk is sponsored by the College of Arts and Science Outreach Program and the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program.

In his discussion, Begleiter will explore issues related to the way the news media and the government interacted after Sept. 11 and the way this relationship affected the information that Americans received.

Begleiter also will focus on some of the interesting questions that these issues raise about the news media's national identity in America's War on Terrorism.
