Diversity lecture features author
The University of Delaware's annual Louis Redding Diversity Lecture will feature author Christopher Edley, who will speak on "Affirmative Action and American Values" at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 21, in 140 Smith Hall.
Edley's book, Not All Black and White: Affirmative Action, Race and American Values, is derived from his work as special counsel to former President Bill Clinton and director of the White House Review of Affirmative Action.
He is the founding co-director of the Civil Rights Project, a Harvard-based multidisciplinary research and advocacy think tank, and also is a member of the bipartisan U.S. Civil Commission.
Edley also will be presenting UD's Redding Diversity Award.
The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Commission to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity. For information, call the Center for Black Culture at 831-2991.
