Trio Arundel presents recital
Trio Arundel will present a free public recital at 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17, in Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. duPont Music Building.
Trio Arundel includes Timothy Clinch, oboe; Cynthia Carr, horn; and Julie Nishimura, piano. This June, Trio Arundel will record the works of Verne Reynolds, noted composer and horn teacher from Eastman Conservatory of Music, including two works for horn and piano, one for oboe and piano, and a trio for oboe, horn and piano.
Carr, associate professor of music at UD, is active as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. She currently is hornist of the Del'Arte Wind Quintet, the Delaware Brass, as well as a member of the orchestra of the Opera Company of Philadelphia. She has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra in the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Carnegie Hall in New York, and on their recording of works of Wagner for Deutsche Grammophone records.
Clinch is conductor of the Delaware Youth Orchestra and serves as department head for theory and wind/brass at the Wilmington Music School. He holds degrees from Lawrence University, Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin. He is an active orchestral and chamber music performer throughout the Delaware Valley, and has received a Delaware State Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship.
Since her concerto debut with the San Francisco Symphony at the age of 16, Nishimura has performed with numerous orchestras. She also enjoys a growing reputation as a collaborative artist. She has performed in the chamber music series of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Delaware Symphony, as well with the Montani and Mendelssohn string quartets and the Del'Arte Wind Quintet. Nishimura is faculty accompanist at UD.
