"THIS is a special weekend for uniting families and students and for parents and others to get a taste of campus life, learn more about the University and experience Blue Hen spirit," according to Robert Snyder, alumni and University relations, "There is a mix of athletic events, informational programs and entertainment –we have tried to include a little of everything for everyone."

Dinner at the Blue & Gold Club

An all-you-care-to-eat buffet dinner is available featuring brandied shrimp bisque, Caesar salad, baked chicken florentine with a roasted red pepper sauce, homemade vegetable lasagna, shrimp and scallop scampi over rice pilaf, sautéed zucchini and yellow squash with garlic and tomatoes, roasted herbed red skin potatoes, fresh fruit bowl, and assorted desserts for $16.95 per person for adults and $8.50 per person for children ages 5 to 11, gratuity included. Calliope VI

Calliope is a one-of-a-kind concert featuring more than 400 student musicians in a fast-paced kaleidoscopic showcase. The Bob Carpenter Center will reverberate with the sounds of UD's Jazz Bands, Wind and Symphonic Bands, Orchestra, Chorale, University Singers and more. The program will conclude with a rousing finale by the 300-member Fightin' Blue Hens Marching Band. All proceeds benefit the University of Delaware Department of Music Scholarship Fund. PARENTS ASSOCIATION BOARD ACTIVITIES

The Parents Association provides a means for parents of undergraduate students to establish and maintain relationships with University personnel and each other. Although all parents of UD students belong to the Parents Association, members of the Parents Association Board provide a communication link between parents and the administration. Board members serve in an important role by assisting the University in many areas.

BOARD PRESIDENTS

The co-presidents of this year's Parents Association Board are John and Candy Olson of Tampa Bay, Fla., now in their fourth year on the board. Their daughter, Elizabeth, is a senior majoring in art history. Their other daughter, Katherine, is 17.

John Olson is a partner/ lawyer with Stearns Weaver Miller. A trustee of the Tampa Museum of Art and a member of the Board of Fellows at the University of Tampa, John is a graduate of Harvard College and earned his law degree from Boston College. His interests include education, art, politics and travel.

Candy Olson serves as director of the Hillsborough County School Board. She holds a bachelor's degree from Newton College and an MBA from the University of Southern Florida. Candy serves on the boards of the United Way and Tampa Crossroads. Her interests include education, politics and travel.
