Give the special gift of gardening

When selecting a gift that gardening friends will enjoy and appreciate, UD Cooperative Extension suggests a subscription to Garden Check.

Published 10 times a year during the gardening season from March to October, Garden Check offers timely information, targeted to the Delaware area.

Written by extension professionals, it focuses on timely topics as an imminent invasion of Japanese beetles, a new variety of aster or the most effective way to treat diseased tomatoes. Another feature, "What to Do This Month" reminds readers of seasonal tasks that need doing in the garden. Gardening events, such as Master Gardener workshops, also are listed.

Garden Check, available only by subscription, costs $17.50. To subscribe, send a check, payable to the University of Delaware, to Garden Check Subscriptions, 112 Townsend Hall, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19717-13043. Include your complete mailing address as well as the mailing address of the gift recipient. You will receive a receipt and a gift notice to send.
