Two students involved in bottle bomb incident

University Police discovered an explosive device in the grassy area between Rodney B and C residence halls along Hillside Road on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 7.

University and Newark police cordoned off the area until the New Castle County Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit arrived to remove the device. There were no injuries.?

Two students living in Rodney B have been referred to the Student Judicial System for making the so-called "bottle bomb," they have been charged with disruptive behavior, with the potential of causing injury. Criminal charges also are pending against both individuals
