RSA receives regional award

The Resident Student Association (RSA) won the Program of the Year award for its Suitcase Party at the annual conference of the Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (CAACURH). The conference was held in early November at Kutztown University with 55 regional schools attending.

According to RSA president Chiara Ciotoli, AG '02, the award is "prestigious" and an "honor" for the University. This is the first year UD has won, and the program, written up by Meredith Zavada, AS '03, will be submitted to the National Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls at its May conference in Los Angeles.

For the Suitcase Party, participants enjoyed a Western night at the Trabant University Center with line dancing, a murder mystery, games and Western food. The highlight of the evening was a drawing for a weekend for two in Baltimore, complete with limousine service, a hotel and spending money.

In February, RSA will host the more informal "No-Frills Conference," which traditionally follows the annual CAACURH meeting–another first for UD, Ciotoli said.
