Ralph Begleiter, Edward F. and Elizabeth Goodman Rosenberg Professor of Communication, Distinguished Journalist, served as a resource specialist at the Salzburg Seminar during a weeklong session on media in an age of globalization. He also presented a discussion of media and technology issues to a seminar for senior U.S. Naval officers at the National Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

Gregg A. Silvis, library, was elected to the board of trustees of PALINET, a cooperative library coalition of hundreds of institutions in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
