The University's Employee Computer Purchase Program (ECPP) has reached the midway point. More than $769,000 worth of computing hardware and software have been ordered in the first three-and-a-half weeks of the program. With a little over three weeks remaining in the program, more than 330 UD employees already have participated, purchasing 334 computers and a variety of accessories, including digital cameras, scanners and printers. One question is asked often: "Is there a long wait for my order?" Orders have been coming in very quickly, and most arrive in and are processed and ready to go to their new homes within two weeks. A few orders have taken 17-18 days, as parts of the orders get delayed. But more than half of the systems ordered are now in the hands of their new owners. In fact, in excess of $400,000 worth of orders (176 computer orders and 21 accessory orders) already have been delivered. The ECPP runs through Nov. 17.
