Rockin' and rappin' for DARE Musicians of the First State Force, a band made up of police officers from various Delaware jurisdictions, performed rock and rap music July 20 in Mitchell Hall for more than 500 students participating in this summer's National Youth Sports Program (NYSP), including young people from both UD and New Jersey's Gloucester Community College. The musicians are associated with the state's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) efforts. Delaware Attorney Gen. Jane Brady also addressed the students, and Sgt. Bill Alexander of the Delaware State Police helped coordinate the event. According to UD coordinator Ron Whittington, affirmative action and multicultural programs, this is UD's 10th year in the program. Photo by Kathy Flickinger
