Delaware Diamonds receive special thanks for their help The University of Delaware has set up a new way to thank members of the Delaware Diamonds Society, those loyal and dedicated alumni and friends who donate at least $1,000 or more annually to UD. Delaware Diamonds will now receive first preference for men's basketball season tickets as well as VIP parking for football and basketball games. "This is a way we can thank UD's most active and consistent supporters," Director of Athletics Edgar N. Johnson said. Individuals who are not currently Delaware Diamonds are invited to consider becoming members in order to have first access to basketball tickets and VIP parking. July 15 is the deadline for priority seating and VIP parking by joining the Delaware Diamonds Society. Last year, the men's basketball team played to sell-out crowds in the Bob Carpenter Center, and in this coming season, UD moves up in class in NCAA Division I athletic competition to the Colonial Athletic Association. According to Johnson, additional scholarships and support will be required for the Fightin' Blue Hens to remain competitive, and as a result, "special attention will be given to our most generous supporters."
