37 UD faculty promotions approved by trustees Promotions of 37 members of the UD faculty were approved at the semiannual Board of Trustees meeting, held May 22, in the Trabant University Center. The appointments take effect Sept. 1. Twelve members of the faculty promoted to full professor are Francis Doyle III, chemical engineering; Philip Goldstein, parallel program; Daniel Leathers, geography; Ronald Martin, geology; Judy McInnis and Bruno Thibault, both foreign languages and literatures; Susan Miller, sociology and criminal justice; Cynthia Okolo, education; Elizabeth Perse, communication; Chandra Reedy, museum studies; Lynn Snyder-Mackler, physical therapy; and Ben Yagoda, English. Twenty-two faculty members promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure are Gagan Agrawal, computer and information sciences; Martha Buell, individual and family studies; Junghuei Chen and Eugene Mueller, both chemistry and biochemistry; Jorge Cubillos and Deborah Steinberger, both foreign languages and literatures; David Edwards and Qing Xiang, both mathematical sciences; Gerald Figal and John Montano, both history; Daniel Green, political science and international relations; David Hutchins, oceanography; Hye-Shin Kim and Belinda Orzada, both consumer studies; Yan Jin, plant and soil sciences; Mary Miele, medical technology; Kristin Poole, English; Katherin Rogers, philosophy; Jeffrey Rosen, psychology; Heidi Sarver, music; and Hai Wang and Lian-Ping Wang, both mechanical engineering. Promoted to the rank of associate professor without tenure was Danilo Yanich, urban affairs and public policy. Promoted to assistant professor was Rebecca Worley, English. Tenure was granted to Sharon Neal, who is an associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry. |
