Service

Robert R. Jordan, Delaware Geological Survey, was reappointed by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists to a three-year term as commissioner of the North American Commission on Stratigraphic Nomenclature. The commission develops recommendations for the identification and classification of geologic units throughout North America.

Valerie Hans, sociology and criminal justice, was selected for a two-year term as a member of the Wilmington, Del., News Journal Community Advisory Board. The advisory board meets regularly with the editorial board of the newspaper and its members write periodic columns. Her first column, "Judges, Juries and the Death Penalty," appeared in the News Journal on April 1.
