Library revises database page

The University Library subscribes to more than 170 databases in all subjects, licensed for use by UD faculty, staff and students. All these networked databases are listed on the library's web page, which was revised recently.

The new page enables users to beginning with an all-inclusive list, narrow it by broad subject and then by specific subject.

Some of the more significant changes include:

  • The default page is now the All Databases list rather than the General and Interdisciplinary list. The All Databases list as well as the Broad Subject Groupings lists have been streamlined in appearance;

  • Some general information is given for each title in a box that appears as the mouse is moved over the title; detailed information is available by clicking on "more info" for each title;

  • The broad subject groupings have been revised to include some new ones (area, ethnic and gender studies; reference and statistics), and some have been combined (engineering and physical sciences; life and health sciences); and

  • Additional links to other electronic resources have been added, and some new pages have been created to bring information together in a more usable manner. In particular, the link from "Electronic Journals" goes to a page that includes a link to a list of journals by publisher/ collection, with information about the journals included for each publisher/collection and some detailed information about each one.
