Health and Nursing Sciences
Multidisciplinary programs include the departments of Health and Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing and Biomechanics. In addition to special programs and distance learning, direct online access is provided to the UD Employee Wellness Center, the Health Center (an elder-care facility), the Ice Skating Science Development Center and the Center for Academic Practice. Site visitors can use either the search box or the "shortcuts" link option for an overview of the college and ways to make contributions. There also are sites that guide users to information relative to current and prospective students as well as faculty and alumni. Madeline E. Lambrecht, HNS special programs, noted that the redesign of the site was the result of input from Margie Cox, special programs; Joyce Perry, health and exercise sciences; Donald Lehman, medical technology; Chris Calamaro, nursing; and Richard Fang, nutrition and dietetics. "We wanted to provide information about the College of Health and Nursing Sciences and its programs," Lambrecht said. "The site has generated interest from within the United States and from abroad for program information, specifically for the distance degree programs, both undergraduate and graduate, in the nursing program." Joy Lynam, who along with coworker Gregory Spies of IT/Management Information Services, was responsible for the HNS page design, said the site provides crucial contact information and that all avenues of communication, such as phone, fax and e-mail are listed. "You have to deliver your message with a web form that allows the visitors convenient contact to UD departments through whatever method they prefer," Lynam said. "The HNS home page does this through the use of photography to extend the dimension of the diversity of its program offerings." Visit this week's site [www.udel.edu/health]. |
