First-ever Arts & Science Week planned To celebrate the diversity and accomplishments of the College of Arts and Science, the first-ever Arts and Science Week will be held from Tuesday, April 24, to Friday, May 4. The nine-day celebration will be marked by numerous activities sponsored by various departments in the college, including speakers, films, performances, exhibitions and other special events. Highlights include an All-College Reception on Monday, April 30, at Clayton Hall, where college faculty and staff are invited for a social hour preceded by brief remarks, announcements of awards and a display of books by faculty authors. "I encourage members of the University community to attend at least one of the events during Arts and Science Week," Thomas DeLorenzo, dean of the college, said. "Arts and science alumni also are welcome to come and celebrate with us." Copies of the complete schedule of events are available at the College of Arts and Science office in Elliott Hall, Main Street, Newark. For information, call 831-2793. |
