Nominations due March 5 for Alumni Assn. awards The deadline for nominations for the 2001 Emalea P. Warner and Alexander J. Taylor Sr. Awards for Outstanding Seniors is March 5. These annual awards recognize the outstanding woman and man, respectively, of the senior class. Candidates must have demonstrated exceptional qualities of leadership, citizenship and character as exemplified by Mrs. Warner and Mr. Taylor. Nominees must have a cumulative grade index of 3.0 or better at the end of the first semester their senior year. The Warner and Taylor recipients each will be presented with a $2,000 monetary award and recognized at their individual Honors Day ceremonies on May 5. In addition, they will be invited to lead the alumni delegates' procession at the spring 2001 Commencement in May. Draper Student-Alumni Relations Scholarship, named after a long-time UD supporter, alumnus and member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, also has a March 5 deadline. This award is a new opportunity to recognize outstanding students. The nominee must be a full-time junior or senior in the fall of 2002, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, exhibit outstanding performance in fostering student/alumni interaction and exemplify Mr. Draper's characteristics of leadership, dedication and enthusiasm for UD. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2002-2003 academic year and will be honored at his/her college ceremony on Honors Day, May 4.
