Crime alert

Two armed robberies occurred near the campus in the early morning of Friday, Sept. 1. In two separate incidents, UD students were crossing the CSX railroad tracks in the area of the cemetery that is adjacent to Frazer Field. They were confronted by armed men who demanded their belongings. The incidents are under investigation by the Newark Police Department, and anyone with information should contact 366-7111. Members of the UD community are reminded to use well-lit and appropriate walkways at all times. Suspicious individuals should be reported to the police immediately. Additionally, it is unlawful to trespass on the railroad tracks, even to cross over them, unless it is at a marked and identified public railroad crossing. Violators are subject to arrest for trespassing by either Newark or University Police.
