Approximately 300 students visited UD's "Volunteer/Internship Expo-A Volunteer Opportunities Fair," held Sept. 14 in the Trabant University Center. More than 50 nonprofit organizations participated in the annual event, designed to recruit volunteers and interns. It was sponsored by the Office for the Coordination of Teacher Education (CITE), College of Human Resources, Education and Public Policy; the Career Services Center (CSC); and the Delaware Association for Nonprofit Agencies.
The event was coordinated by Sylvia Brooks, CITE; and Marianne Green, CSC; and Peggy DiFulvio, clinical studies. Students attended the event and met with representatives of such agencies as the American Civil Liberties Union, the Arc of Delaware, Bayard House, Blood Bank of Delaware, Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, Catholic Charities Group Homes, Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council Inc., Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware, First State Mentor Corps, Girls Inc. of Delaware, Newark Manor Nursing Home, Public Allies Delaware, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware and the state Office of Volunteerism.
