#00P036 and #00P037 Admissions Counselor; Admissions Officer, (two positions, Level 12), Admissions- REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and experience working in at least one of the following areas: admissions or financial aid office, either as a student worker or as a professional employee; student life, residence life or academic advisement position; or secondary school as a guidance counselor, teacher or college advisor. Effective speaking and presentation skills, strong writing skills, good judgment, energetic with a tolerance for working long hours, enthusiasm for working with college students and for representing the University of Delaware and the ability to hand1e individual projects while working as part of team are essential. A valid U.S. driver's license is required. Any of the following would be an advantage: strong computer and web skills; experience or training in areas that would help UD recruit and evaluate students from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds, as well as students with special talents-such as visual and performing arts, athletics, science or engineering. DUTIES: Recruitment and travel within an assigned geographic region (seven weeks of travel in the fall, two to three weeks in the spring) that may consist of high school visits, college nights and college fairs, conducting evening programs and contacting alumni supporters; evaluating freshman and transfer applications; conducting on-campus information sessions to audiences large and small; assisting UD colleges in on-campus recruitment programs and activities. Additional responsibilities may include training alumni volunteers and working with guidance counselors and educational organizations, as well as other duties and projects as assigned by the director of admissions or other senior staff members. #00P039 Assistant Director (Level 15), Laboratory Animal Facility - REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, DVM or VMD from an institution accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and be licensed in at least one state, preferably Delaware. Board eligibility by ACLAM (American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine) is preferred. Requires two to three years' experience in providing laboratory animal research services. DUTIES: Report to the director of laboratory animal care and support the University-wide laboratory animal care program, with responsibility for compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies related to the humane and appropriate treatment, care and use of laboratory animals. Provide routine clinical veterinary animal care to all animals that have been approved for use by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC); review animal protocols with the IACUC; confer with principal investigators performing research activities and assist them when required; provide training of the animal facility staff, which includes the facility manager, senior laboratory technicians, animal caretaker, work-study students, investigators and graduate students. Analyze and edit data using the Student Information System and AT&T System (card) to determine eligibility of card privileges and accounts. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED with three years of clerical experience involving public contact. Medical office program training, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to interpret medical records and previous patient interaction preferred. Requires basic computer skills, including word processing; high level of accuracy and attention to detail; sensitivity to the needs of others; and the ability to maintain good public relations and communicate effectively and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Greet and sign-in all patients; interview patients to obtain pertinent registration information; assess patients' needs and schedule appointments; answer, screen and refer calls to medical staff using a multiline telephone system. Maintain daily patient sign-in and medical census tracking; document test results in patients' charts and inform physicians and nurses of results. Coordinate medical transportation services; maintain inventory of office supplies and materials; assists with bulk mailing of health announcements, brochures, forms. Provide direction and assistance to medical records clerk.
