Three receive CPS rating

CPS secretaries Three salaried staff employees, Deborah Kilby, Office of the Dean of Students; Anne Powell, Office of the Vice Provost for Research; and Sheila Chmiel, Office of the Vice President for Student Life, have attained the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) rating in the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). All are members of the association's Delaware chapter. The three-part test, which includes sections on finance and business law, office systems and administration and management, is offered only twice a year at 250 locations across the U.S. and Canada. The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends 32 semester hours of academic credit for members who are CPS certified, and recertification must occur every five years. For more information on IAAP, visit the web site at [www.iaap-hq.org] or call Chmiel at 831-2707.
