Search begins for basketball coach

Mike Brey, UD basketball coach for the past five seasons, has accepted the head coaching job at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. A search committee that includes UD President David P. Roselle, Edgar Johnson, director of athletics, and Mary Ann Hitchens, senior assistant director of athletics, has been meeting with potential candidates for head coach. Brey, who came to UD from Duke University, compiled a 99-52 record at UD that included NCAA appearances in 1997-98 and 1998-99, and the Blue Hens made their first ever NIT appearance in 1999-2000.
