Student wins top script award

Toby Mulford, AG 2001 (left), winner of the Rainbow Script Writing Award is shown with Jeannie Walker, English, who organizes the annual competition for one-act plays. Dan Gray, AS 2002, won second place, and graduate student Caroline Smith and Doug Calderon, AS 2001, tied for third place. In addition to cash awards, the winners worked with students from E-52 to produce a staged reading of their plays, which was held at Rainbow Books and Records on Main Street in Newark in April. The judge of the competition was Michael Hollinger, a playwright whose play Red Herring was produced at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia.
