Join fellow employees on Bike to Work Day May 19

As part of Bike Month in Delaware, the University is holding a Bike to Work Day, Friday, May 19. Peddle pools of bikers will be organized from various Newark communities to ride together and meet for breakfast at the Trabant University Center at 7:45 a.m.

For information and to register, potential participants should call bike-to-work coordinator Jim Grimes, Public Safety, at 831-4136, or send e-mail to [JGrimes@udel.edu]. Return e-mail will inform participants about biking companions and details for the day's trip to work.

Other bike-related events during the month include a bicycle rodeo for children from 1-5 p.m., Saturday, May 13, at Fairfield Park in Newark. The rain date is Sunday, May 14.

Bike Line Newark will hold a maintenance and repair clinic, Friday, May 19. For information and a reservation, call Paul Stevenson at 368-2167 or send e-mail to [PAS@aol.com].

Bike Month 2000 will end with the First Union Wilmington Classic segment of a six-stage race for professional bicycle racers on Wednesday, May 31.
